Trip Overview:

Guatemala is at the heart of the Mayan world and the Mayan culture is like no other. The colonial cities, ruins of Tikal, vast Rio Dulce are going to enhance your mother and daughter tour of this country and leave you feeling deeply connected to the culture.

The country is small, but contains a large variety of ecosystems, from oceans and jungles to volcanoes and tropical rivers. There is so much to see making it the perfect mother and daughter travel group destination.

Side-by-side we will explore its diverse ecosystems and connect with the beautiful people who are still anchored by their traditional heritage. We will be sure to learn about the Mayan ruins, experience Maya civilization and most importantly grow as women. You will feel blessed to have these powerful experiences amplified through the eyes of both Mom and Daughter.

If you bring US Dollars, bring clean, new bills with no marks or tears issued in the last ten years.

We HIGHLY recommend travel insurance and recommend World Nomads.  More information, as well as a link to purchase can be found on the Lotus Sojourns FAQ page.

TRAVELING WITH CHILDREN

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) strongly recommends that unless the child is accompanied by both parents, the adult have a note from the child's other parent (or, in the case of a child traveling with grandparents, uncles or aunts, sisters or brothers, friends, or in groups*, a note signed by both parents) stating "I acknowledge that my wife/husband/etc. is traveling out of the country with my son/daughter/group. He/She/They has/have my permission."

We do not have all the answers for specific situations…for more information you may visit the US Customs and Border Protection Website here.
