She is Un-Becoming

Today is my day!

This year I have been given the word mountain and the word journey to guide me to the path I am on right now...literally my journey.

I started the year reading this quote,

“Maybe the journey isn’t so much about becoming anything. Maybe it’s about un-becoming everything that isn’t really you, so you can be who you were meant to be in the first place.”

I have worked so hard up until this point of my life to become everything that everyone ever asked of me. I have given and given and given and bent to fill this mold and fit into that box. I have cried myself to sleep. I have ached for truth. I have felt so lost that there seemed no way I could ever be found. Then slowly, I began to look inside and work my way through that darkness, and in the depth of those shadows lay my light.

During a powerful meditation, my young self, around 10 years old, came to me...she took my hand and said, "I am here and I have never left you...we can do all of this...together."

It has taken me 2 years to see what she was asking me to do. To stop trying to be who I am not and to know that I was always just as I was meant to be and when I reconnect to my true self I will step into the world and be able to create the change I have longed to create. I will guide women to connect with one another, to stand together, to know their value and their worth and their truth.

Today is the day I see that there is no other option for me than to move forward, to Un-Become, to step out of the darkness and let my light shine the way it has been meant to all along.

It is both a difficult and terribly simple journey and I hope that many of you will join me as we Un-Become and return to who we have always been.
