Ruins of Kuélap

Ruins of Kuélap

Peru is a diverse, beautiful, and magical country.  On this itinerary we will explore some of the less-traveled areas of the Northern Highlands. Traveling to these less-touristed areas will allow for us to really connect with the people of the country and embrace the traditional ways of life here.  It will be a powerful setting and energetic catalyst for your personal transformation as we set out on both an inner and a physical journey. We will start with time getting to know Peru and its history some of the beautiful museums in Lima then set off for the Chachapoyas region and explore the spectacular ruins of Kuélap and Cataratas Gocta, one of the world’s highest waterfalls.  We’ll also visit Museo Leymebamba and have the opportunity to learn about both the Chachopoya and subsequent Inca cultures; featured among its exhibits are over 200 mummies, and accompanying funerary offerings, recovered in 1997 from the Laguna de los Condores (Condor Lake) site. We will connect with local artisans to learn more about their lives and the traditional handcrafted good they make and continue to enjoy the majestic views offered in this region.
